Executive Chairman
Martin Denis Bernon is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (overseas) and has worked as a licensed auctioneer in Ireland for over 35 years. Specialising in the sale of paintings, general antiques and precious metals. Educated at St. Gerard's School, Co. Wicklow, The College of Estate Management, Berkshire & Sotheby's Institute of Art, London, studying The Decorative Arts of the 17th - 18th century.
In the 1980's he apprenticed at Battersby & Co. Auctioneers Dublin, gaining further experience with two Dublin auctions houses before setting up on his own in 1993. In 2000 after selling his company he was invited to join the team at O'Reilly's and has been its Executive Chairman since 2016.
For over 30 years has been a member of the Irish Georgian Society and previous regular exhibitor at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin.
Gemmologist
Lola Hynes is the Head of the Gemmology department in O'Reilly's. She studied in the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, London as a Gemmologist and Diamond Graduate. Lola has over 15 years experience with O’Reilly’s
Numismatic & Sales
Greg Carley is the Chairman of the Numismatic Society of Ireland. Greg has over 40 years’ experience in sales and marketing.
Art Historian
Isobel is an Art Historian at O’Reilly’s Auction Rooms. She has a Bachelors in Art History and Film Studies, and a Masters in Art History, Collections and Curating, both from University College Dublin.
She has completed courses with Sotheby’s Institute of Art, as well as studying online with Harvard. Isobel’s skills provided a rounded understanding and appreciation of fine art, with a particular focus on 18th and 19th century prints and portraiture. Isobel also has a good working relationship with the National Museum of Decorative Arts.
Gemmologist
Having completed the Foundation in Gemmology with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-a) in 2023, she was awarded the Certification in Gemmology. Natasha is currently enrolled in the Diploma Gemmology Course with Gem-a, which will accredit her with the FGA status.
Natasha is a member of the Irish Jewellers and Silversmith Guild as a Jewellery Designer Maker. Natasha is registered with the Company of Goldsmith of Dublin Assay Office with her Hallmark, NB.
Photographer
Daniel Paul McDonald is the Head of Photography at O’Reilly’s Auction Rooms. He holds a BA in Creative Digital Media and has a professional history in art handling & museum management.
Prior to his current position, Daniel worked as a videographer and photographer before undertaking the role of Curatorial Assistant to the Director of The Model, home of The Niland Collection in County Sligo.
Drawing on his expertise in fine art, luxury items, and digital media, Daniel is responsible for curating and capturing visual and digital content for O’Reilly’s Auction Rooms.
